All of a sudden - one day west of Langawi - crossing the Bay of Bengal - we have struck some weather.
The waves and wind have been increasing all morning and now - for those of us in the starboard after cabin flat - we are getting the old whiplash effect so reminiscent of HMAS SYDNEY.
The wind is right on the bow and is officially a moderate gale. With our own speed of 20 knots, the bridge has recorded wind gusts of up to 60 knots! Nevertheless no one seems to be suffering the effects of singing into the handbasin yet.
The pools have be closed due to in-pool tsunamis and a couple of beached elephant seals.
The "tropical" party under the stars is the first casualty. Never mind - I'll be watching Sam Stosur win the french Open.
As always - some photos for your edification. Once again the photos are misbehaving - I'll upload them later.
